Amalfi

Amalfi Town Guide & Information

A 14th century natural disaster means the Amalfi town you see today is a mere shadow of the glory of this former maritime superpower. However the combination at one central site of the early 13th century Duomo (cathedral) dedicated to St.Andrew, the 9th century Basilica del Crocifisso and the 13th century Arabic style Cloister of Paradise are certainly worth a visit. A pleasant historic town and adjoining marina which offer opportunities for some casual shopping, a meal or just a spot of "people watching".
